“Blessed are the Peacemakers, for they will be called sons of God” Mathew 5:9
Meditation:
Today the world seems so divided: Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, there is still unrest in the Middle East and Israel, protesting and demonstrations in France, UK, Mexico, Peru, Equator, Canada, China, Japan, Africa, North and South Korea, and even the United States of America seems to have two opposing sides. We divide ourselves more and more based on arbitrary boundaries, skin color, religion, language, and economic status. Peace seems almost impossible to achieve these days.
We seem to have quickly forgotten the mistakes of the past, even the mistakes written about in the Old Testament. In the Old Testament, it would be almost unfathomable to read these verses, which support accepting all whether free or slave.
The tone of the Christian religion changed after Jesus Christ’s death. Now it includes all people, all believers and non-believers alike, regardless of religion, race, color or creed. Everyone is invited to Eternal Life and Peace through Jesus whom God sent to save all people not just a chosen few.
In the New Testament, The Bible says:
“Live in harmony with one another. Do not be proud, but be willing to associate with people of low position. Do not be conceited. " Romans12:16
Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good. Romans 12:21
Did Jesus die for nothing?
Peacemakers, and those who promote Peace, will be called sons of God! Be a Peacemaker, promote peace and love instead of violence and hatred. Be who you were made to be…..be a child of God!
Prayer: Peaceful and loving Father, we adore you. We’re humbled to call ourselves your servants, which is the greatest honor we can imagine. Lord, we pray for your forgiveness. We have all sinned, but we hope that you grant mercy and peace upon us. May your body of peace reign once again Lord, our strength and our redeemer. In Jesus ‘name we pray. Amen!
