Come Dance with me

Come dance with me

through life's adventures

of winding roads and

beautiful days.

Come dance with me

through life's obstacles

and uncertainty

sorrows or pain.

Come dance with me

let's take this awesome

trip called life

created by God alone.

Come dance with me

creating memories

all along the

way.

Come dance with me

open and free.

Come dance with me

through eternity......

I wrote this poem January 17, 2013. I originally wrote it because it made me think of the many times that Jose and I danced in the kitchen, and the living room. It seemed as though we always had time for dancing, no matter whether we were cooking, or doing dishes, or just relaxing ......we danced.... Don't get me wrong we are not great dancers but who cares.... we had fun and laughed and enjoyed the time together. It's been nine years since I wrote this poem, and we are still dancing.... not as much... but still dancing.

This poem has more meaning than just the obvious.... dancing.... to me it means the story of our life together. We have been dancing through life ever since we met. We danced when things were the scariest and darkest.... we danced when things were awesome and wonderful.... we danced in all of the time in between too.

It doesn't matter where we are or what we are doing there is always time to dance. It doesn't matter if there is music playing or not because music is all around in everyday sounds.... the wind, the rain, the traffic, the birds, etc. .... you just have to listen to the melody and go with the beat.

Dancing has been going on since in the beginning of time.

In 2 Samuel 6:14 it says, "And David danced before the Lord with all his might, wearing a priestly garment." Then in Jeremiah 31:4, Again you will take up your timbrels and go out to dance with the joyful. And in Psalm 149:3, Let them praise his name with dancing and make music to him with timbrel and harp.

This poem has a different meaning for me today. It has a greater meaning to me because to me Life is a dance......God is our partner......He always leads, and we follow. Sometimes the dance is difficult, but the outcome is always better than we expected. I enjoy my daily dance with God.... He teaches me new steps every day.... sometimes I stumble but he always catches me and never tires of my practicing. When my knees are weak, and they hurt he places my feet on his feet and carries me through the dance...... he never stops being my dancing partner. He is always there ready to dance with me through life's obstacles.

I once read" Life is not about waiting for the storm to pass.... It's about learning to dance in the rain." So the next time you think that life is too hard and your troubles are too many, just dance......It doesn't matter where or when just dance....it doesn't matter if you know how to dance or not.....just move with the beat in your head.....hear the music in your mind and picture yourself dancing in the rain......just you....no one watching or caring how it looks.....just dance. I believe that God is saying, " Come dance with me open and free. Come dance with me through eternity...." With Him for a partner anything is possible! God bless you until next time and remember to KEEP ON DANCING!
