“Do not be Anxious about anything, but in every situation, by Prayer and petition, with Thanksgiving, present your request to God.”

Philippians 4:6 (NIV)

Meditation

“No Hurries no worries, be happy and Grateful!” living Every day, one day at a time…Enjoying every moment one moment at a time…!

Anxiety, hurries and worries are crippling issues for many people.

In this age of technology, especially in social media, it is easier than ever before to compare to ourselves with one another, which can lead to a lot of thoughts of inadequacy.

Philippians 4:6 says: “don’t worry about anything! Do not be anxious for anything.”

If only it were that easy… but can it be?

I would like you to try something the next time you feel anxious or worried: immediately mention it to God when it happens. Acknowledge the feeling, mention it, and see what happens. I think you will be surprised by the results.

Do you feel most anxious in the morning? Do you think about the things you didn’t do yesterday, and the things you will do tomorrow? Basically, do you feel anxious and a nervous wreck?...

Bernice and I have a habit that has helped us greatly with this issue: every morning, we wake up and pray, immediately. We don’t toss and turn in bed, we don’t check the phone, we don’t make coffee…we immediately Pray!

The effects have been tremendous in terms of dealing with our anxiety. Let me explain a bit more from our own perspective because this verse and few others really helped shaped our daily routine and improve our life.

The first reason we like to pray in the morning is because it quiets our mind. Suddenly the day ahead of us becomes clearer. we know what things we want to deal with immediately. What things we can put on the back burner, and what things we might not have to deal with all.

Second, although you might think we might still be sleepy, we have found we actually wake up and become more alert. Our minds are fresh and free to wander a bit, and we have a nice conversation with God to start every day.

Third, and we believe this is the most important, we have been given the opportunity to Thank God for all that we are Grateful for. This prayer of thanksgiving starts our day on a positive note, and it trickles down into all the things we do that day. Also, we have been writing a Gratitude journal and expressing our feelings every day to God.

Anxiety is something that we all deal with on a daily basis. How we manage it is up to us. We suggest you Trust and Follow God’s advice:

“Don’t worry…Don’t Be anxious” but develop an Attitude of Gratitude. If you put this into practice, approaching the Lord with any requests, you will notice a huge difference.

Prayer:

Thank you, father in heaven, for all the ways you have blessed us, help us to continue to start every day with a conversation with You. Also, help us to Trust and Be more Grateful to you instead of worrying and being Anxious …!!! In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen!
