“But to you who are listening I say: Love your enemies, Do good to those who hate you. Bless those who curse you. Pray for those who mistreat you. If someone slaps you on one cheek, turn to them the other also. If someone takes your coat, do not withhold your shirt from them. Give to everyone who ask you, and if anyone takes what belongs to you, do not demand it back. Do to others as you would have them do to you.” Luke 6:27-31
Meditation:
We’re living in dark, dangerous, chaotic, and crazy times. Mental disorders, crises, violence, wars, rage, racism, divisionism, etc. are all around us, but where is the solution?
The Solution is in the Bible, in Luke 6:27-31 Jesus is saying: “Love your enemy and Do unto others as you would have them do to you.” But, who is willing to put this Spiritual Principle into Practice? Like many Spiritual Principles it is difficult to listen to and harder to put into practice in our daily life, because it is against human nature… The human reaction “flight” or “fight”, is our natural response when facing hostility or danger. We cannot change this response by ourselves or with our own strength. We need Holy Spirit’s Help to empower us with the love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control it takes to cope in these troubled times.
This is not easy and does not happen instantly, it is a life-long process that starts with trusting God, and accepting Jesus as your savior. In doing so you renew your mind and become a new creature who is more Peaceful, Joyful, humble, meek, kind, and compassionate.
It is an inside out Powerful Transformation, and a life-long Process, to become a New Creature, by renewing your mind, to become more Peaceful, Joyful, Humble, Meek, Kind, Compassionate… By the way, meekness doesn’t mean weakness… Meekness means power under control by the Holy Spirit.
The only way that we can be able to love our enemies, bless them and pray for them, and to overcome evil with good is by living in full these Spiritual Principles, and putting “the Golden Rule” into practice in our daily life.
Prayer:
Father in Heaven thank you for sending Jesus to save us and empower us with your Holy Spirit, to live the Gospel and teachings of our Savior. Continue to Lead, Guide, and encourage us, to spread the Good News of Salvation to everyone, regardless of the world’s darkness. In Jesus’ name we Pray. Amen
