“Joyful and Peaceful”

“Worship the Lord with gladness; come before him with joyful songs.” Psalm 100:2

“The fruit of that righteousness will be Peace; its effect will be quietness and confidence forever. My people will live in Peaceful dwelling places, in secure homes, in undisturbed places of rest.” Isaiah 32:17-18 (NIV)

Meditation:

The Christian life is about serving, and worshipping, God with Joy, Gladness, Gratitude, and Humility… also about Righteous work.

How do you spend the majority of your time?

Do you feel that the time you spend on a daily basis is mostly spent wisely?

Many people are successfully within themselves. The work of the righteous quiets the soul, granting them a peaceful assurance forever. I heard a quote that I liked: “Success without fulfillment is the ultimate failure.” Having money, fame, and even health without doing righteous work or feeling fulfilled about how you spend your time is not success at all. Being at Peace with the actions that you do on a daily basis is true success.

Having your actions and thoughts justified in the eyes of God is true fulfillment.

How do we seek a more righteous and peaceful existence?

“Therefore, being justified by Faith, we have Peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.” Romans 5:1-2 (NIV)

“For God hath not given us the Spirit of fear; but of Power, and of love, and of a sound mind.” 2 Timothy 1:7 (NIV)

“And the Peace of God, which transcends all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:7 (NIV)

Put simply, when we believers in Christ, live our lives based on the teachings of Jesus, loving and obeying his commands, we will have Peace with God through Jesus. We are not meant to live in fear; God has granted us the power of Love, Peace, and Safety. It is our own choices which are righteous or not, justified or not. Live righteously and you shall be Peaceful.

Think about how you spend your time? And

What you do with most of your energy?

Reflect on the thoughts that you have on a daily basis. Are they righteous?

If not, turn to the Scriptures. Better yourself. Lead a righteous life and seek Peace. Pursue it with your body, mind and heart. Leave the rest to God.

As God’s children, we have tasks that he has given us that we are to carry out in our lives. These tasks all revolve around making sure that the world comes to the knowledge of Christ. Every Christian has a part to play. When we do our work for God, we should be joyful in it.

Prayer:

Dear God, I ask that as I carry out what you have called me to do, may I always do it with a Glad heart. I don’t see this work as a burden but as a blessing, because it is a privilege to do anything for you, Lord. In Jesus’ name, I pray your will be done. Amen!
