Anxiety 0 .... God 1

The other night I decided to read a book that I have been putting off reading because I knew that some parts of it were horrible and I didn't want them to be in my head. The book "Carrying Divine" is about the genocide in Rwanda and how one woman's unshakeable faith helped her and her family to survive it. Anyway I decided to finish reading it and I am glad I did.
The one thing that stood out to me from everything else was the author's faith in God through Psalm 91. It constantly reassures her that no matter what is happening around her she will be safe and God will protect her. She endures things we cannot even imagine and yet she clings to Psalm 91:14-16
"Because he loves me,"says the Lord, "I will rescue him; I will protect him, for he acknowledges my name. He will call upon me, and I will answer him' I will be with him in trouble, I will deliver him and honor him. With long life I will satisfy him and show him my salvation."
And because of her strong belief in God and her devotion to Him she and all her family, even those she rescued from the genocide have grown and prospered because of her faith and her ability to share it with everyone.
Now I have read Psalm 91 many times but I never 'really' let it sink in......finally all my anxiety just faded away....and when it tries to creep back into my mind I just remember Psalm 91:9-12
"If you make the Most High your dwelling ...even the Lord, who is my refuge....then no harm will befall you, no disaster will come near your tent. For he will command his angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways; they will lift you up in their hands, so that you will not strike your foot against a stone.
I end my day by saying "I will say of the Lord, He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust"...and he will protect me, my family, my friends and all whom I pray for, and keep us safe and healthy." Amen
If you are struggling or are anxious about anything I suggest you read Psalm 91.....really read it and repeat it in your mind letting it sink in like I did....it works for me it will work for you as well...
Peace be with you always.
