"Finish the Race"

“For I am already being poured out like a drink offering, and the time for my departure is near. I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the Faith. Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the LORD, the RIGHTEOUS JUDGE, will award to me, but also to all who have longed for his appearing.” 2 Timothy 4:6-8

Meditation:

At Paris France, On July 26th, 2024 we’ll celebrate the Olympic Games. The best athletes around the globe will compete to win Gold Medals in many disciplines from track and field to gymnastics, swimming, soccer, basket ball etc. After long Mental, Financial preparations; many training sessions, sacrifices, effort, dealing with stress, diseases, loses, accidents, challenges etc. they focus on the prize of winning the Gold Medal and establishing new World and Olympic Records, and becoming famous Olympic Gold Medal athletes, with their names written in the Olympic Games History.

Christians are like the Olympic Athletes. We’re Spiritual Athletes. During our life on this earth we are running the Spiritual race of FAITH, we are facing many tough times; challenges, diseases, temptations, obstacles, discouragements, crises, pandemics, violence, opposition, accidents, loses etc. But difference from the Olympic athletes and the Spiritual athletes is that our ULTIMATE PRIZE is the CROWN of RIGHTEOUSNESS that we’ll receive from our LORD JESUS CHRIST. But to win we need keeping FOCUS on HIM.

Our focus needs to be on Him at all times especially through adversity, trials, and tests, that require the help of the HOLY SPIRIT’s fruit; FAITH, HOPE, LOVE, JOY and discipline, perseverance, patience etc. The prize is WORTHY and we can exclaim joyfully at the finish line “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the Faith. Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness”.

Prayer:

Our heavenly Father help us to continue running the race of FAITH and THANK YOU for sending your SON and your HOLY SPIRIT who guide, empower, and strengthen us to win and receive the ULTIMATE PRIZE. Also to continue to guide and helps us to SHARE the “Good News of Salvation” in all we say and do, in Jesus’ name we pray. Amen!
