The angel said to the women, "Do not be afraid, for I know that you are looking for JESUS, who was crucified. He is not here; He has RISEN, just as he said. Come and see the place where he lay.

Matthew 28:5-6

Meditation:

The resurrection of Jesus Christ is one of the most profound events in Christian theology. It is a testament to the power of God over life and death, and it offers believers a foundation for hope and transformation. It is not just a historical event Christians celebrate once a year—it’s the central reality that reshapes how we live, think, and hope. The Gospels present the resurrection as the ultimate demonstration of God’s power, love, and victory over everything that tries to diminish human life. But the resurrection is not only something Jesus experienced; it’s something believers are invited to live in.

Let’s explore what the Gospels reveal about this power and how it can become a daily force

What the Gospels Teach About Resurrection Power

1. Resurrection Power Brings Life Where There Was Death.

In all four Gospels, the resurrection is the moment when God overturns the finality of death. The stone is rolled away, not so Jesus can escape, but so witnesses can see that death has been defeated.

  • Matthew highlights the earth-shaking, angelic announcement that “He is not here; He has risen.”

  • Mark emphasizes the awe and trembling of the women who discover the empty tomb.

  • Luke shows Jesus walking with discouraged disciples, turning despair into burning hope.

  • John gives intimate moments—Mary hearing her name, Thomas touching His wounds, Peter being restored.

Each Gospel paints a different angle of the same truth: God’s power brings life where everything seemed lost.

2. Resurrection Power Restores Identity and Purpose

Jesus doesn’t just rise—He returns to His followers with renewed mission.

  • He calls Mary by name, restoring her hope.

  • He breathes peace on the disciples hiding in fear.

  • He recommissions Peter after failure.

The resurrection is God saying: Your story isn’t over. Your purpose is still alive.

3. Resurrection Power Is Meant to Be Shared

Jesus sends His followers out with a message of hope, forgiveness, and transformation. The resurrection is not a private miracle—it’s a global invitation.

How to Apply Resurrection Principles in Daily Life

The resurrection isn’t just theology—it’s a lifestyle. Here’s how to live it out.

1. Choose Hope When Circumstances Look Dead

Resurrection power means you don’t have to accept hopelessness as the final word.

  • When a relationship feels broken

  • When your confidence is shaken

  • When your dreams seem buried

You can pray, “God, bring resurrection life into this situation.” Hope becomes an act of faith, not emotion.

2. Walk in Your God-Given Identity

Just as Jesus restored His disciples, resurrection power invites you to live from a place of:

  • forgiveness instead of shame

  • purpose instead of confusion

  • courage instead of fear

Ask yourself each morning:

“What would I do today if I truly believed resurrection power lives in me?”

3. Let Go of What God Has Already Buried

The empty tomb teaches us that some things are meant to stay dead:

  • old habits

  • toxic mindsets

  • past failures

  • guilt God has already forgiven

Resurrection power frees you to walk out of your own “tomb.”

4. Bring Life to Others

Everywhere Jesus went after the resurrection, He brought peace, clarity, and restoration. You can do the same:

  • Speak encouragement

  • Offer forgiveness

  • Serve someone quietly

  • Pray for someone who’s struggling

Resurrection power is contagious when lived out.

5. Live with Eternal Perspective

The resurrection reframes everything. It reminds you that:

  • suffering is temporary

  • death is not the end

  • God’s promises are trustworthy

  • your life has eternal significance

This perspective brings peace in chaos and purpose in the ordinary.

6. Empowerment for Mission.

The risen Jesus commissions His followers to spread the Gospel. In Matthew 28:19-20, He instructs them to go and make disciples of all nations. The resurrection power equips believers with the courage and strength to share their faith and serve others.

The resurrection of Jesus is a cornerstone of the Christian faith, offering hope, transformation, and empowerment. By understanding and applying its principles, believers can experience a profound change in their lives, reflecting the power and love of God!

It is not just a moment in history—it’s the heartbeat of Christian living. When you embrace the resurrection power of Jesus, you begin to see your life through the lens of possibility, renewal, and divine strength. The same power that rolled away the stone is available to roll away whatever stands between you and the life God intends for you.

Prayer:

Merciful GOD thank you for loving us! JESUS thank you for your resurrection that brings Joy, Hope and Victory, Salvation and Eternal life and gave us a great commission, help us every day to walk in the power that raised you from death. Revive what feels broken. Restore what feels lost, and bring new life to others who will joyfully spread the "Good News of Salvation" to the entire planet! In your name we pray, Amen!

Jose Reyes.
