“Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to Peace. And be Thankful.” Colossians 3:15 (NIV)
Meditation;
How is your heart?
Nothing kills more people in the world today than heart disease. It is rather fitting metaphor for our spiritual lives as well. Paul calls us all to have a more peaceful heart, resulting in all of us being one group, thankful for our relationship with the Lord. How do you take care of your heart? Eating well, exercise, medicine? These are certainly important for maintaining a healthy heart, but Spiritually what do you do?
One word that is important in this verse is the word “rule.” Like a king over a kingdom, you should let Peace rule over your heart. Peace shall make the laws, control your feelings, and in turn your actions as the ruler of the kingdom of your heart.
With this in mind, and in your heart, what effects will it have on your life?
How would having a peaceful heart change the way you act?
I think much of the stresses of day-to-day life and conflicts that come along with them would vanish. I think that having the Faith that God shall protect you through thick and thin will alleviate the anxieties that we all feel daily.
“Be careful for nothing; but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the Peace of God, which transcends all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:6-7 (NIV)
“Fill your heart with Peace and your life will fill with thanks.”
Start your day by showing your Gratitude towards God. This action will help fill your heart with peace for the rest of your day, and this exercise, if performed daily, can make a tremendous positive impact on how you see the world.
How do I know this?
Because it has had a tremendously positive impact on how I see the world. Fill your heart with Peace and wake every morning thankful for being alive. Justify your life by FAITH IN THE LORD, be THANKFUL for every moment, let Peace rule your heart’s Kingdom.
Prayer
Father in Heaven; thank you, for gave us Jesus’ Peace, in the middle of the Chaos. Amen!
