Our ‘Unexpected Adventures’… Part 2

Friday morning at 8am we headed out on I70 East for our adventure, we drove until 10:30am when the car stopped again on I70 East in Columbus OH, in heavy traffic!!! Luckily, we were able to pull over to the side out of traffic!!!At this point I am overwhelmed and in tears…

Jose calmed me down and I called Lindsay Honda in Columbus, OH. They made an appointment for us for 1:45 to allow time for the tow truck. I then called the Marathon Towing service and arranged for a tow truck and called a taxi and arranged for a ride to the dealership. All this time traffic is getting heavier and faster!!! The tow truck arrived, and the driver assured me he wouldn’t leave us on the highway waiting for the taxi. He would wait until the taxi came and got us before he took the car. By the grace of God, the driver showed up moments later and we were on our way. We were at the dealership from 11:45am – 4:50pm.

During our time there we talked to a salesperson, and as I tried to explain our latest experiences I broke down in tears. She was very understanding and tried everything she could to lighten the moment. She even offered to show us a used car in case ours could not be fixed. Just as she was going to get it we got word that our car was fixable and would be ready to go soon. She showed us the car anyway while we waited for ours to be finished and we just talked and had a nice time. She told us we were fortunate to have broken down there because they were ranked #1 in the State for service and she was part of the #1 sales team in the State! God works in mysterious ways, but he always puts the right people in your path at the right time. They changed the fuel pump relay and once again we were back on the road.

During this part of the trip we crossed several states and saw many rivers, bridges and mountains that were beautifully green and full of forests. The scenery was breathtaking and the ups and downs of the road were like a rollercoaster! Another scenic route thanks to the grace of God. We drove until 8:45pm when we stopped at the Comfort Inn in Grantsville, MD. Despite the lateness of the hour, we got a room with no problem. This was a very nice hotel. Continental Breakfast, Pool, Gym, friendly staff, quiet, microwave, refrigerator, Wi-Fi good, cable tv, and lullaby music courtsey of the people in the room next to us (they had two infants with them) …. we slept like a baby......

To be continued……
