"One small seed, One Powerful God"

Then the disciples came to Jesus in private and asked, "Why couldn't we drive it out? He replied, because you have so little Faith. Truly I tell you have if you have Faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, "Move from here to there" and it will move, nothing will be impossible for you."

Matthew 17:19-20.

Jesus looked at them and said, "With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible."

Matthew 19:26

Meditation.

Some of Jesus’ most comforting words come from two different moments in the Gospel of Matthew—two teachings that, when held together, create a complete picture of faith.

In Matthew 17:20, Jesus says:

“If you have faith as small as a mustard seed… nothing will be impossible for you.”

And in Matthew 19:26, He adds:

“With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.”

One speaks to our part—faith. The other speaks to God’s part—power.

Together, they form a beautiful truth: Small faith + God’s unlimited power = a life where mountains move.

The Mustard Seed: Your Small Beginning

Jesus chooses the mustard seed intentionally. It’s tiny, almost invisible. He wanted us to understand that faith doesn’t begin with strength—it begins with willingness.

A mustard‑seed faith is:

  • sincere

  • humble

  • honest

  • imperfect

  • hopeful

It’s not about having giant confidence. It’s about offering God the little you have.

And Jesus promises that even this tiny seed can move mountains.

The God Who Makes the Impossible Possible

Matthew 19:26 reminds us of something essential: Faith is not about what we can do. It’s about what God can do.

We bring the seed. God brings the miracle.

We bring the prayer. God brings the power.

We bring the willingness. God brings the transformation.

This is why Jesus says nothing is impossible—not because we are strong, but because God is able.

What Mountains Look Like Today

Your mountain might not be a physical one. It might be:

  • a financial burden

  • a health challenge

  • a strained relationship

  • a habit you’re trying to break

  • a dream that feels too big

  • a fear that keeps returning

Matthew 17:20 tells you: Bring your seed.   Matthew 19:26 tells you: God will handle the impossible part.

How to Live Out These Two Verses Every Day

1. Offer God one small act of faith

Faith grows through small beginnings.

Examples:

  • Pray for five minutes.

  • Read one verse.

  • Speak one word of encouragement.

  • Take one step toward your goal.

Your seed is enough.

2. Stop trying to carry everything alone

Matthew 19:26 is an invitation to release the pressure.

Say gently: “God, this part is too big for me. I trust You with it.”

Faith is not self‑reliance. Faith is God‑reliance.

3. Speak what God says, not what fear says

Your words shape your atmosphere.

Try speaking:

  • “God is working behind the scenes.”

  • “I am not alone.”

  • “This mountain will move in God’s timing.”

  • “My seed is growing.”

Faith speaks life.

4. Celebrate small progress

Every mustard seed has a beginning.

Celebrate:

  • You prayed today.

  • You didn’t give up.

  • You tried again.

  • You trusted God with one small thing.

Celebration strengthens faith.

5. Remember: God is the One who makes things possible

Your job is not to make miracles happen. Your job is to stay connected to the Miracle‑Maker.

When your small faith meets God’s unlimited power, mountains shift, doors open, hearts heal, and hope rises.

A Gentle Closing for Your Heart

You don’t need perfect faith. You don’t need big faith. You don’t need loud faith.

You just need real faith—faith the size of a mustard seed...

And when you place that seed in the hands of the God who makes all things possible, you will see transformation in ways you never imagined.

One small seed. One powerful God. One beautiful journey...

Prayer.

Heavenly Father, Thank You for reminding me that even faith as small as a mustard seed can move mountains, and that with You all things are possible. Today I bring You my small faith—my hopes, my fears, my uncertainties—and I place them in Your hands.

Grow in me a deeper trust. Strengthen my heart when I feel weak. Quiet my mind when doubts rise. Guide my steps when the path feels unclear.

Teach me to rely on Your power, not my own. Help me remember that You are working even when I cannot see it. Let my faith be sincere, steady, and rooted in Your love.

Increase my faith, Lord— faith to pray boldly, faith to act courageously, faith to wait patiently, faith to believe that You are able...

I surrender every mountain before me. I choose to trust Your timing, Your wisdom, and Your goodness.

Thank You for being the God who makes the impossible possible. Thank You for walking with me, growing me, and strengthening me day by day...

In Mighty Jesus’ name, Amen!

Jose Reyes.
