"But the FRUIT of the SPIRIT is LOVE, JOY, PEACE, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law."

Galatians 5:22-23

Meditation:

Today's focus on the Holy Spirit Fruit’s is: Faithfulness, Gentleness and Self-control. Three powerful aspects of the fruit and how we can apply it in our daily lives....Living the Fruit of Faithfulness, Gentleness, and Self-Control in our Daily Life.

Galatians 5:22–23 reminds us that the fruit of the Spirit is not just a list of virtues—it’s a lifestyle shaped by the presence of God in us. Among these, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control often feel like quiet strengths, but they’re essential for a life that reflects Jesus Christ.

Faithfulness: Showing Up When It’s Hard. Faithfulness means being reliable, loyal, and committed—not just to God, but to others. It’s easy to be faithful when things are smooth, but true faithfulness shines when it’s inconvenient.

Example: Imagine a friend going through a tough season. You’re tired, busy, and emotionally drained—but you still check in, pray for them, and show up. That’s faithfulness. Or maybe you’re tempted to cut corners at work, but you choose integrity. That’s faithfulness in action.

Gentleness: Strength Under Control. Gentleness isn’t weakness—it’s strength wrapped in humility. It’s choosing kindness when you could choose dominance. In a world that rewards aggression, gentleness is considered countercultural.

Example: You’re in a heated discussion, and someone insults you. Instead of snapping back, you respond calmly and respectfully. That’s gentleness. Or when correcting a child or coworker, you speak truth with compassion, not condemnation.

Self-Control: Mastering the Moment. Self-control is the Spirit’s power helping us say “no” to impulses that lead us away from doing what God would consider best. It’s not just about resisting temptation—it’s about choosing what’s right, even when it’s hard.

Example: You’re tempted to scroll endlessly on your phone instead of spending time in prayer or with family. You pause, put it down, and choose connection. Or you’re frustrated and want to lash out—but you breathe, pray, and respond with grace.

These three traits—faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control—aren’t just ideals. They are a lifestyle. They’re daily decisions. And the more we lean into the Spirit, the more naturally they flow from us. Let’s be intentional today: show up, speak softly, and choose wisely.

Are you living under the influence of the Holy Spirit's Fruit?

Prayer:

Our Father in Heaven, help us every day to live under the influence of your Holy Spirit's Fruit, LOVE, JOY, PEACE, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Continue to empower us, renewing our Strength to continue serving you joyfully, spreading the Gospel with our Words and our Actions, in Jesus' name we pray. Amen!
