...and be content with what you have, because God said, "Never will I leave you; Never will I forsake you." So, we say with confidence, "The Lord is my helper; I will not be afraid. What can man do to me?
Hebrews 13:5-6
Three times I pleaded with the Lord to take it away from me. But he said to me, "My Grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness." Therefore, I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ's power may rest on me. That is why, for Christ's sake, I delight in weakness, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties for when I am weak, then I am strong.
2 Corinthians 12:8-10
Meditation:
Footprints in the Sand: A Walk with God Through Every Season.
There is a reason the message of “Footprints in the Sand” has touched hearts for generations. Even though the poem itself is not found in the Bible, its truth echoes the heart of Scripture: God walks with His children, and He carries us when we cannot walk on our own.
When we look at the story of God’s people—from Abraham to Moses, from David to the disciples—we see a God who never abandons His children. He guides, strengthens, and lifts them through every valley and every storm.
Today, let’s explore this beautiful message through the lens of Scripture and daily life.
1. When the Path Feels Heavy
There are seasons when life feels overwhelming—when responsibilities stack up, when grief weighs on the heart, when prayers feel unanswered. In those moments, it’s easy to wonder:
“Lord, where are You?”
But Scripture reminds us:
“I will never leave you nor forsake you.” — Hebrews 13:5
Even when we feel alone, God is present. The footprints we see in the sand during our hardest days are not ours—they are His.
2. When We Don’t Have Strength to Walk
Sometimes the journey is too much. Illness, fear, financial pressure, family struggles—these moments drain our strength.
Yet God says:
“My grace is sufficient for you, for My power is made perfect in weakness.” — 2 Corinthians 12:9
This is the heart of “Footprints in the Sand.” When we collapse under the weight of life, God doesn’t stand at a distance. He lifts us. He carries us. He becomes our strength.
3. When We Look Back and See Only One Set of Footprints
Looking back at life, we often see moments where we survived things we never thought we could. Times when we didn’t know how we made it through.
Those are the moments when God carried us.
Just like the Israelites crossing the Red Sea, or Elijah being fed in the wilderness, or Peter being rescued from sinking in the waves—God steps in when our strength ends.
He doesn’t just walk beside us. He carries us through.
4. When God’s Footprints Lead Us Forward
God doesn’t only carry us through the past—He guides us into the future.
“The Lord will go before you; the God of Israel will be your rear guard.” — Isaiah 52:12
Every new season, every new challenge, every new blessing—He is already there. His footprints are ahead of us, preparing the way.
Prayer:
Lord, Thank You for walking with me through every season of life. Thank You for carrying me when I could not carry myself. Help me trust Your footprints—behind me, beside me, and ahead of me. Teach me to rest in Your strength and walk in Your peace. Amen!
Jose Reyes.
