Now FAITH is confidence in what we HOPE for and assurance about what we do not see.
Hebrews 11:1
But those who HOPE in the LORD will RENEW their STRENGTH, they will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.
Isaiah 40:31
Meditation:
These verses give us the connection between FAITH and HOPE…
When I turn on a lamp, it is with FAITH. When an Electrician turns on a lamp it is with the knowledge of an electrician…
FAITH is based on the unknown, once we have knowledge, we tend to forget about FAITH. We rely more on our knowledge and FAITH is pushed behind in our thinking.
We were not there when the world was created; we have no knowledge of how it was done. But we BELIEVE, we have HOPE, that GOD is the author of creation… We were not there to walk with JESUS and listen to his preaching about the kingdom, but we have FAITH that it all happened based on the writings found in Scripture. We TRUST the writings of the apostles. We have HOPE in His message told in these writings. JESUS performed many miracles, and wonderful supernatural healings, that we accept through FAITH…
FAITH is an interesting virtue… Faith is the ability to trust in the unknown.... What gives us the ability to have FAITH?
Actually, it begins in the infancy. A child depends on it’s mother from the moment it is born. In order to survive a child needs someone who can be depended on to guide them and provide for their needs. This dependency gives them courage to believe.
When you think about it, parents are the “teachers” in a child’s life… you teach them FAITH. The first prayer most of us learn is the LORD’S Prayer. How does it begin? “Our FATHER, who art in heaven” …If parents teach them to be fearful of them or to be unable to depend on them, what must they think of GOD?
If you have ever known a child whose parents were not present or neglectful, most likely this child will have a problem depending on anyone but himself. This inability to trust, to have FAITH, in anyone can last into adulthood, bringing many problems into their life…
The Bible says that GOD is the FATHER of the fatherless… by FAITH we BELIEVE and accept this but FAITH must also be nurtured.
We have all been witnesses of Healing miracles… events that the science and professionals can’t explain… By sharing our personal testimony with others, and sharing the ways in which GOD has worked in our lives, we are nurturing the FAITH of others. When we listen to the FAITH stories of others, our FAITH is nurtured. May we always give witness to the FAITH and HOPE that lives in our hearts!
Every day is a gift, fresh start and one our favorite verses Isaiah 40:31 reminds us:
“But those who HOPE in the LORD will RENEW their STRENGTH, they will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.” HALLELUJAH!
Prayer:
GRACIOUS GOD, you come to us each day with reasons to keep BELIEVING in you. Help, renew us to be nurturers of FAITH, sharing our personal testimony and continuing to spread joyfully the gospel to others so that they too may have HOPE in experiencing your GOODNESS. This is our Mission, Passion, and purpose of our lives, serving GOD until our last breath, giving all the credit, GLORY, and Honor to HIM! In JESUS’ name we pray, Amen!
Jose Reyes.
